KZN-based Cannabis Beverage Company, Poison City Brewing claims it has created ‘Durban’s kiffest beer’ – South African surfer slang for ‘coolest’. And it seems like many of the country’s beer drinkers agree. In October 2018, the company released the country’s first beer containing cannabis – Durban Poison Cannabis Lager – and demand has since outstripped supply every month.
