May 2018
In May’s Enterprise Africa we have an exclusive interview with CEO of Dimension Data’s MEA business. This major IT and tech player has been named as a Top Employer and Grant Bodley tells us that the company will continue investing in its people so that it can remain sustainable.
“We don’t just talk about our people being an asset; we truly act on it,” Bodley said. He describes the environment at Dimension Data as one which is innovative, attractive and diverse, and says that the company is aiming for continued double digit growth with a special focus on East Africa and the Middle East.
May’s other lead feature comes from Sandton’s Tiber Construction – a company also on the growth path. Operating in a volatile and difficult construction industry, the past few years have been challenging for all involved but Tiber has remained lean and nimble and has managed to secure a number of large projects to ensure its future. Managing Director, Jose Correia tells Enterprise Africa that the company is getting under way with several exciting new projects and is looking forward to a positive future in South Africa under President Ramaphosa.
We also talk finance, hearing from Stangen MD Marius Botha; retail, hearing from John Craig MD Lily Moreira; and mining where we talk to the new CEO at Letšeng Diamonds, Kelebone Leisanyane.
Stangen is looking to reinvent itself as a fintech focussed insurer after splitting from African Bank, John Craig has completely refurbed its product portfolio to attract new customers, and Letšeng Diamonds is celebrating the discovery of several large stones in Lesotho.
These stories of success are just a handful of fantastic tales demonstrating how companies in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa remain at the forefront of industry and commerce.
Every month, we bring you a content-rich digital magazine that highlights positivity in business. Enjoy reading our May features, and get in touch if you have a success story to spread.
